Reflection should not be a tedious process. Instead, reflection is a process that helps us develop identity and to understand the meaning of our experiences. To facilitate student thinking and help students reflect critically and creatively, the role of the teacher is essential. The teacher must value reflection and act as a mentor by asking thoughtful questions and employing different strategies to promote the personal development of students.

Customized Reflection sticky notes

When we ask students to write a reflection on a topic, they write a very long paragraph. They often describe what happened and don’t always go beyond the description level. Here are some sticky notes that I have created to support reflection. I believe reflective thinking should be encouraged regularly to check for understanding and help students monitor their development of knowledge, understanding, and skills. Students can benefit from thinking frames to help them reflect critically and creatively. IB Teachers Teaching love sticky notes! Short and sweet! I have customized and created 6 reflection sticky notes (post-it notes) with students.
